Excursion to the Wartburg in Eisenach

The excursion to the Wartburg starts with the bus transfer from St Augustine's at the afternoon on 13 July 2017. Departure will be around 15:15. The excursion contains a guided tour through the Wartburg and following conference dinner in the Romantic Hotel at the Wartburg. Departure from the Wartburg back to St Augustine's will be around 21:30.

         
          1. Guided tour through the Wartburg - on the trail of Martin Luther

2017 is the year of Martin Luther. Martin Luther published his 95 theses 500 years ago in 1517. Hence he was relegated to the Wartburg in 1521 where he translated the New Testament from Greek into German.
On the occasion of the 500 year anniversary celebration of Reformation, there is a special exhibition on Martin Luther at the Wartburg "Luther und die Deutschen".

          2. Conference Dinner at the Wartburg

The conference dinner will be held in the Romantic Hotel at the Wartburg after the guided tour.
